Built by Dedication, Driven by Passion

Schutzhund in Buffalo has always been more than just a sport—it’s a tradition built on perseverance, shared purpose, and a deep respect between handler and dog. Year after year, trial after trial, the Schutzhund Club of Buffalo continues to prove that no challenge—be it weather, logistics, or personal loss—can stop a committed community from doing what it loves most.

This unwavering spirit was on full display during the November 2008 Trial, where biting winds and swirling snow turned the East Amherst fields into a frozen proving ground. Yet, the competitors pressed on, with strong performances and even stronger camaraderie, showing what it truly means to trial under pressure.

The story continued into brighter days at our Spring Club Trial, where we welcomed Judge Don Yelle. His deep experience and passion brought renewed energy to the field, and first-time handlers had the chance to shine beside seasoned veterans. The warmth of the day matched the welcoming spirit of the club, and the results spoke for themselves.

But it was the events recounted in Everything Old Renewed Again that best captured our heart. After the loss of our founder Owen Tober, the club faced uncertain times. What followed was not just a continuation—but a reawakening. New members, a new home, and a new chapter began, grounded in the same values that carried the club through decades of trials.

Whether you’re new to Schutzhund or a lifelong participant, there’s a place for you here. With each event, the Schutzhund Club of Buffalo writes another chapter in a story defined not by weather or scores—but by loyalty, passion, and the enduring bond between dog and handler.
